Mar 22 A Super King upgrade with Emma Mattress

My husband and I have spent most of our relationship (14 years!) sleeping on a double bed (much to the horror of my Mum who has a 6ft bed!) but finally upgraded to a king-size bed last year. However, after realising we could have fit a super-king in our bedroom, we really regretted not going bigger with our bed. So, when Emma Mattress got in touch with me earlier this year asking if I'd like to work with them, I was rather excited. Now was the time for us to go super king!

Emma Mattresses are made in the UK and believe it or not, are delivered rolled up in a box! After seeing our mattress arrive and then unpacking it, it's amazing how quickly they spring into shape when unwrapped. Also since our new Made.com bed had a longer delivery time, it was a really easy way to store the mattress and didn't take up much space at all.

I'd read that the Emma Mattress is a Which Best Buy, which is something I always find impressive. After getting used to a Memory Foam mattress over the last year, I was happy to learn that the mattress has a layer of memory foam (which adapts to your body's unique contours) along with an Airgocell layer (for comfort and to stop you sweating), pocket springs (2000 to be exact! All to balance out pressure) and cold foam (for lower back support), all included to both support and relax your body.

It might seem strange that Emma Mattress only offer one type of mattress, but really it isn't as their mattress has an adaptable firmness that's meant to be perfect for anyone. But fear not, if you don't like it, they also offer a free 100 night trial and free returns if it's not for you. If that's not good customer service then I don't know what is!

After testing it out ourselves over the past week, I can tell you that whilst it does have a firmness, it also has a softness that moulds around your body and it really is very comfortable. It feels very well made and I like the grey edges which give it a really modern look.

The first night we slept on it, after getting over our initial "Oh my! Our bed is so big! I can't even reach you, it's massive!" moment, we both lay there and said "Aaaaaaaah. This is so comfy. It's definitely the best mattress we have ever had." So there you go, pretty high praise right there!

Of course, with a new super king mattress, we also needed a super king bed frame and chose the grey Roscoe frame from Made.com. It is stunning and our new mattress fits perfectly in it. Since the bed is quite high and the mattress is quite deep, we honestly feel like we are sleeping on a cloud when we go to bed!

With a new bed and a new bed frame, we decided it was time for some new bedding too. We chose a duck feather and down duvet and 4 matching pillows from Christy and they are such great quality and extremely comfortable pillows.
